Most young girls dream of becoming a princess. Some dream of becoming a supermodel or an actress. Keturah Hamilton, from the native land of Jamaica, has realized her childhood dreams. She has accomplished most of what she has set out to do in life, but there is more that drives her to continue exploring the pursuit of all her passions. This beauty won’t stop until she reaches the paramount of the entertainment industry.
Hamilton was born in Spanish Town, Jamaica. As a young child, she knew that modeling and acting was her ultimate passion, so she set out to partake in educating herself by enrolling in different gifted schools. Before long, little Keturah was participating in endless plays and variety shows; this sparked the beginning of this shining star’s bright career. As a teenager, Keturah moved to Chicago, Illinois with her mother. There, she took a deeper interest in honing her skills toward becoming the dominant model and actress she is today.
One day, Keturah entered into a local beauty contest and won! A few weeks later, she was scouted by Modeling Association of America International and migrated to NYC. With her plan in motion and full representation, Keturah started to professionally flourish in her diverse talents. She graced the screen with her beauty in numerous music videos with such artists as Tarrus Riley, Beenie Man featuring Akon, Mary J Blige, Frankie J featuring Baby Bash, Jim Iyke featuring Puffy T and Mike Word, Jim Iyke featuring Tuface Beenie Man featuring Lady Saw, and Mr. Lexx.
Hamilton has also been featured in numerous high profile print ads. She landed an editorial campaign with music heavy weight 50 Cent and Puff Daddy. With her beauty in the scope, Keturah has modeled for Outre hair products, The Source Magazine feature spread with Rapper Fabulous, Source Magazine spread with record producer ,rapper Jermaine Dupri, Sophisticate’s Black Hair Magazine, Complex.com’s eye candy.
Keturah has done runway shows in the USA, BET’s Rip The Runway, Europe, and in the Caribbean. This poised and articulate being even found herself as a regular on the NYC CW11 TV network fashion segment. Hamilton made her acting debut in 2006 when she played the lead role in a Nigerian movie Crazy Like a Fox with co-star Angel Lola Luv. Subsequently, she has starred in three other movies.
In the winter of 2008, she was cast and flown to the beautiful Island of Antigua to star in an action feature film called Redemption of Paradise where she played a lead supporting role with co-star, Jamaican Reggae artist, Macka Diamond. Movies, runways, and film – what more can she do! When asked about her multi-talented activities, Keturah Hamilton always responds, “It is my passion that drives me to become a success for all women to see, and it can be done at any level we wish.” Perseverance is the key.
She encourages young ladies to stay focused on their goals and never sell their soul to make it in the industry and to know that “If you can dream it, you can do it!” There is one quote that she learned in school that stuck with her and is the main reason for her success -“The heights of great men reach and kept were not attained by sudden flight but while their companion slept they were up toiling through the night.”
Keturah Hamilton performed in the stage play “Down on your Your Knees and Up to the Moon” that successfully ran from March 19 through May 15, 2016. Many critics say that she is the force of true beauty and brains.
